It has been a long time since I’ve had French toast. But when I got my hands on some nice millet bread recently and remembered the Vegg powder sitting in my cupboard, I thought I’d give it a try.

I had been craving a loaf of good, fresh, crusty vegan and gluten-free bread for a long long time. Many gluten-free bakeries cater to vegans with cupcakes and other sweet goods. But the one area where they almost consistently fall short is in the bread department. Finding a loaf that doesn’t have eggs or dairy has been a mission of mine for some time. So when I stumbled across Ella’s Bellas and learned that they were mostly vegan as well as gluten-free I had to check it out.

When I asked my friend Kate who is vegetarian and lives in Chiang Mai what her favorite restaurant is she didn’t hesitate to say Pun Pun. When Vicci and Faye also said that it was really good, I knew we had to check it out. We ended up going there for lunch on Saturday, before my mum and I headed to the airport and back to Bangkok.
