Warsaw, Poland Restaurant Review: Krowarzywa

I had read about Krowarzywa, a new vegan burger joint, on Happy Cow. The reviews were all glowing, and it sounded amazing.  I wasn’t sure that they would be able to cater for a gluten-free diet, but thought there was no harm in checking it out.

When I got there, the place was packed.  There’s not much seating inside, a few benches on each side and a table, which ends up becoming communal as people sit and eat their burgers.

I was delighted to learn they had gluten-free bread and a couple of gluten-free options: a tofu sandwich, and a veggie one. I opted for the tofu burger with spicy tomato sauce and horseradish sauce, which turned out to be a very excellent choice.

Yum!

Yum!

The nice thick slices of tofu were marinated and baked and absolutely scrumptious. The spicy tomato sauce and horseradish sauce were the perfect complements, and the fresh lettuce, bell peppers, onions and pickles made the sandwich complete.  The gluten-free bun was nice, hot and crispy. Just perfect. When I bit into it I couldn’t help but think it was the best tofu sandwich I ever had had. It probably isn’t, but it must come pretty close!

So delicious!

So delicious!

They also offer smoothies and fresh juices.  I opted for a banana, spinach and pear juice to complete my meal. It was fresh and refreshing and really, really yummy.

I highly, highly recommend Krowarzywa. And by the looks on the faces of the other customers finishing their burgers while I was there, so do many others! Go!
