Persimmon Spice Smoothie

I don’t know about you, but sometimes when I taste something I feel pure pleasure.  That is how I felt when I tasted this smoothie.  Oh my.

The combination of fuyu persimmons with ginger and other spices is just beautiful.  I first whipped this up on a Sunday morning before a spinning workout, so added some hemp protein to get me through it.  However, I’ve also made this with hemp seeds and flax seeds and it’s just as good.  

You’ll want to hurry up and make this before persimmons are out of season!

Persimmon Spice Smoothie

  1. 4 fuyu persimmons, quartered and frozen
  2. 1 cup almond milk
  3. 3 cups baby spinach or kale
  4. 1 tsp vanilla extract
  5. 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  6. 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  7. 1/8 tsp allspice
  8. 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  9. 3 tbsps hemp protein powder
  10. 1/8 tsp salt
  11. Stevia, to taste (optional)
  1. Add all ingredients to a blender and blend on high until smooth.
