Choc-orange Green Smoothie

We have green smoothies for breakfast every day. It’s a great and refreshing way to start the day with a dose of greens, as well as omega-3 and omega-6 from seeds, and other healthful ingredients. I like to be creative with my green smoothies, and sometimes it’s successful and other times, meh.  My partner was starting to get a bit sick of them, so he asked me to focus on things he really likes for a while: chocolate, banana and peanut butter being three of the key ingredients. This smoothie contains two of those, but I couldn’t stop there. So when I was thinking about things that taste good with chocolate and orange came to mind, I decided to add it in.

Some of the ingredients are optional: the chocolate essence and orange oil are not necessary, but just enhance the flavor profile a little. Instead of the orange oil you could add a small piece of orange rind to the smoothie to enhance the orange taste.
