Chiang Mai, Thailand Restaurant Review: Khun Churn

Crispy Rice Cakes with Peanut Coconut Sauce

Chiang Mai is a city that is made for vegans, with vegetarian and vegan restaurants on just about every corner (okay, maybe I’m exaggerating, but there are very many). As a result, choosing where to eat can be a bit overwhelming. So when I arrived, I asked a few colleagues and friends that live in Chiang Mai what they would recommend.

My mum and I had our first dinner at Khun Churn, which was recommended because of their vegetarian buffet.  When we arrived on a Thursday evening, we realized that the buffet was just for lunch and so ordered from the menu instead.

Bangkok, Thailand Restaurant Review: Baan Suan Pai

I had read about Baan Suan Pai on Happy Cow and had been hoping to get there during some of my previous trips to Bangkok.  On this trip, I made it a priority.  My mum, who was traveling with me, and I woke up early one morning and headed to Baan Suan Pai just as it was opening at a little after 7am to try some vegan yumminess.

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia Restaurant Review: Enya’s Mediterranean Kitchen

Enya’s Mediterranean Kitchen is among the most highly rated restaurants in Addis Ababa, according to TripAdvisor. Given that Mediterranean food is also vegan-friendly, I made it a priority on this trip to check it out.  As luck has it, the meeting I was attending was at a nearby hotel so one evening I dragged some friends and colleagues along with me for an evening of good food and conversation.

Warsaw, Poland Restaurant Review: Marrakesh Café

After so enjoying my meal at Tel-Aviv Café and Deli, I knew I had to check out Marrakesh Café, it’s sister restaurant, as well.  Marrakesh has a more extensive menu, with additions such as a Moroccan tagine and eggplant moussaka, sandwiches and an all-day buffet. Their set of mezze, or kemia (they use the Moroccan word), also has more variety. Their space is bigger too, but just as funky and very comfortable.

Warsaw, Poland Restaurant Review: Krowarzywa

I had read about Krowarzywa, a new vegan burger joint, on Happy Cow. The reviews were all glowing, and it sounded amazing.  I wasn’t sure that they would be able to cater for a gluten-free diet, but thought there was no harm in checking it out.

Warsaw, Poland Restaurant Review: Tel-Aviv Café & Deli

I was really excited to try the food at Tel-Aviv after checking out their website. After I saw they had soy shwarma on the menu and that it was also gluten-free, I knew that getting there would be high on my priority list.
